KID'S VOICES WILL TRAVEL
Radio is an extremely powerful medium and it's
always available. As people work, shower, clean the house, ride in
the car, and lay on the beach they listen to the radio. In the poorest
nations, you probably won't find a television or a computer, but chances
are you will find a transistor radio. Because radio is completely
anonymous yet extremely personal, it gives audiences a way to hear
the true voices of young people - in all of their truth.
Loud & Clear allows the fresh insights of the
youth voice to directly enter the homes and lives of adults.
Loud & Clear aims to open the airwaves for kid's voices while educating
and enlightening its audience, young and old. As part of the project,
children are exploring such issues as: diversity in schools and community,
standardized testing, home schooling, private vs. public schools,
women in traditional male careers, and ethnic stereotypes. Loud &
Clear journalists sometimes use a 'fact/VOICE' format to personalize
statistics and research on young people. In 60 seconds, the audience
not only learns a fact, for example, that 1in 10 kids are homeless,
but they also hear the story of a young person who is living that
fact every day. |
