Editorial Coordinators (Paid Internship) will be responsible for managing teams of youth journalists as they research, brief and interview their peers around the world. By outreaching to youth-serving organizations, the intern will coordinate peer-to-peer interviews between CPL journalists and kids across the country. Topics are youth and adult-generated. Some transcribing and editing will be involved.
Interns will also be responsible for working directly with teen editors to engage them in the story coordinating process.
As projects develop in the office, intern will be responsible for independently managing aspects of an assignment. Interns will work directly with Youth Coordinator and gain and editorial management skills. Interns need to be able to work independently, understand the value of deadlines and have excellent research and phone skills.
Editorial Coordinators must be able to work a minimum of 12 hours a week. Stipend/work-study available.
